It was in northwest Louisiana a month ago, didn't make it here. Everyone had a cough that lasted at most a day or two...couldn't have been the flu being described to the west.

We were hard hit by the related strain in the late 1990s...perhaps it provides a partial protection, who knows.

3. I've had it/have it

Caught it last Friday, swinging a pickaxe and shovel in the snow to bury one of our cats. Saturday I was flat on my back with a fever of 104.5; Sunday it was "down" to 102 but even by Monday it was still in the 100 - 101 range.
Fever's gone now, but nagging cough is lingering. Lots of rest and lots of water is the only way to tackle this thing.

6. I had an awful cold last week

slight fever, mostly a bad cough and sore throat. I'm still a bit congested, but it's pretty much over.

It wasn't a lot of fun....

working its way through my house. It's mostly respiratory for me - mainly coughing and wheezing but no fever, no headaches or anything - guess I lucked out in a way. It's a persistent bastard though.

I can't tell if this is the Fijian strain. My guess is it's either the mild Jamaican strain or perhaps the lesser Panamanian influenza, renowned for it's remarkable flavor and nuttiness.

I haven't benn feeling the greatest but not flu. I haven't had a high fever or a significant cough. My husband has had a significant cough and has felt ill. We've had whopping cough in our area so that is a possibility too.

I've been so sick this week, and fairly pissed off, too. I got the flu shot back in October, and apparently it didn't work, or it's just a different strain. First time I have ever got the flu :(
