with all the controversy surrounding peer-to-peer file sharing services, e.g. Kazaa, i thought it would be nice to be able to make my own MP3 recordings directly from Internet radio ... so, i found the following software that does a great job ...
it's very, very cool ... and it's legal too ... at least for now ...
after downloading the "Boombox" software (see below), you'll be able to select from thousands of internet radio stations .... you can use a keyword, e.g. "jazz", to see a list of stations that play primarily that type of music ...
some of the stations even show the current song that is playing ...
by clicking on record, the software automatically records digital quality audio to your hardrive putting each song in a separate file (if you select that option) ... the file is given the name of the singer and the song ... the files are stored in .mp3 format ... the recorder does not include a player but you probably already have the necessary software to play these songs just by double-clicking on them ...
here's the location to use for downloading:
http://www.jajsoft.com/products.htmlsay "Yes" to any of the prompts ... the site is secure and you shouldn't cause any problems by installing the program ...
have fun listening ...
