My best friend's prob. still sleeping. I'm having some coffee, doing dishes and looking at you guys. I just took out the trash, and the wind whipped me in the face. The sky was black and it was sprinkling rain a little from the trees. I loved it.

I haven't packed yet. I'm still playing around. But we're going to the beach this weekend. We've had this planned for months. We booked a room far in advance; my best friend, her mom & me. My friend called me from work- she was worried about Ernesto & how it would affect our trip. I was like, "Ask your mom how she feels".

Her mom needs a break. I've adopted her as my own mother anyway, so it's all up to her. We want to show her the best time. She doesn't have a taste for violent storms, but she wailed, "WE'LL RISK IT!" She even had a "Mommie dearest"- type trill to her voice. Her wrath was huge (NOTHING will stop me from seeing the beach).

I really can't wait. If it means we play cards all weekend on hotel beds, so be it.

making the bed. Jamaestiene says it's bad luck to clean up before a hurricane. I don't think so. However, I am superstitious about cleaning my car for some reason. :D

We love the ocean SO much that just to be there will be enough. We have an ocean-front view, and the restaurant downstairs has the best fried catfish & local beer I've ever tasted.

I almost like the beach better in rainy weather anyway. And if the storms wash away the crowds, even better! Being with friends + waves nearby = heaven.

It was a hot but beautiful day here in JAX, FL as the storm passed by us. 0 wind, drizzled for about ten minutes then bright sun and hot.

25. Ernesto was less the Italian Stallion and more the WASP.

We had sunshine and breezes the ENTIRE time. You're sweet to ask, plus you do sound like Humphrey Bogart, which is fine by me *LOL*. We bought groceries & wine & cheap novels at the grocery store, settled in, and spoiled my friend's mom. We also boogey-boarded, swam a lot, (and ate REALLY good fried catfish; I almost wept)
