I just sent her a copy of her birth certificate so she can get a non-driver ID in her new location.

The kid was called for jury duty! I called the jury commissioner to explain that she doesn't live here anymore and was told that she would have to provide proof in the form of a driver's license/non-driver ID or voter registration card before she could be officially disqualified. Let's hope she gets that ID right away and takes care of this issue before she gets into trouble for blowing off jury duty.

I come from some deep liberal roots. Everyone in the above pictures is/was a Democrat (only "was" if they are no longer with us.) And, because he screams when he hears* on tv and coos softly when he hears Jon Stewart, I know Pitter-pat is a liberal, too!

By far, the best post on a pic thread I've ever seen. I love "family history" type of pictures. They remind me of a time when pictures, and taking
them, was actually an "event"- something people prepared for. No staged digital wedding pic today can touch that one of your dad and mom.

They look so young. They were, just 21 and 22 years old. I love their wedding pictures because it has them and my deceased grandparents. They were married at my grandparent's house, which is full of great memories of my summers spent there with them. I get choked up when I think of my summers in Kentucky with the family.

94. HullBoss has actually only been up here since 2003

(me since '75) but he became an Alaskan really quick, with my guidance. Back story (and apologies to Loungers who know this already) - we were high school sweethearts in '63, but had to break up because my parents thought we were too serious too young. The last time I saw him was in 1967 until I started thinking about him again in 2000 and tracked him down. When we saw each other again, it was like we were still teenagers in love. We were both in pretty terrible marriages at the time, which took a while to get out of, but he finally was able to move up here in March of 2003, we got married in June of that year, and we're living happily ever after.

Perfect for a Lifetime movie of the week, don't you think?
