And the Bestselling Bulk Order Book Is...
A National Party No More by Zell Miller!

From the NY Times:

A NATIONAL PARTY NO MORE, by Zell Miller. (Stroud & Hall, $26.) The senior senator from Georgia assails positions taken by his fellow Democrats. (+)

A dagger (+) indicates that some bookstores report receiving bulk orders.

Let's hear it for our friend Senator Miller, and his buddies who helped buy him onto the charts! :argh:

2. The NYT should have a category.

Best Selling Non-Fiction Bulk Order.

That way there is no mix up on which non-fiction books sell legitimately.

Better yet make it the Best Selling Fantasy Bulk Order. That sounds more appropriate.

3. Zell's on the corporatist payroll for sure
Saw him on TV the other day, hawking his book. But at first I didn't know who it was because the sound was off. Said to myself, "Who is this goofy looking hick?"

Who's the publisher? Regnery?

5. I had a couple of people special order it
so I brought in 5. The others are sitting on the shelf like cold, dead, stinky, wet fish. (And even if I think it stinks, I make it available because of that lovely thing called the First Ammendment).

6. A dagger (+) indicates stabbing your party in the back
And betraying everything you once claimed to stand for. To hell with Zell.

7. There were two copies of it at the Chicago Public Library available.
When I went yesterday. I pointedly ignored both.

I did put Jimmy Carter's new novel "The Hornet's Nest" on reserve, though.
