The Brazilian Joke rides again!

This is a total vanity post, but I won a prize for the Brazilian joke on Thursday night! There's a burlesque and vaudeville club in Denver on Thursdays (Lannie's Clocktower Cabaret on 16th and Larimer in LoDo for locals - please come; it's the best waste of the cost of a movie in the Denver Metro area - 3 hours of burlesque, comedy, music, acrobatics, dance, and puppet theater!) and the weekly contest was the Best Joke contest. On a dare, I told the Brazillion joke and won!!

My prize:

For those that don't know the Brazilian joke....

Donald Rumsfeld is giving the president his daily briefing and says, "And on a sadder note, three Brazilians were killed in combat yesterday in Iraq."

The president is quiet for a minute, then says, "Don, how many is a brazillion?"

Actually, I have also told it in public, to uproarious laughter. It's just that here at DU, it's as hackneyed as, dare I say it, kudzu.

Bog knows that my cats are wasting lives 1-7 quite nicely, so I can't see that most of them will miss a life or two. Only 18 years of lying on the couch, sleeping and shedding instead of 22? Oh, the tragedy!!!

3. I thought everyone had heard the Brazilian joke, but

last week a parishioner sent it to me. The e-mail said "I jsut heard this joke, and thought it was the kind of thing you'd enjoy." I e-mailed back "I've heard it before, but it won't get old if I hear it a Brazilian times" At church this morning, she was telling everyone the joke--and my "Brazilian times" rejoinder...and howling with laughter.

General Neo-Con, our token Repug, did not laugh.
