OH my god, I almost just got attacked!
First of all right now and 10:00 it's 59 degress. So it was a tad cool about an hour ago. Anyway, I went the to the store to pick up a few things and I wasn't in there more than 15 minutes. I get out to my car and a guy is waiting (he was there when I first drove up) outside his car. And he starts yelling at me for leaving my dog in the car. I tell him "It isn't hot, and I love my dog. or something like that." He's swearing and calling all kinds of names and says that 'someone' left a note on my car. I put my stuff in the car and throw the note on the ground then he's yelling at me for littering. I jump in my car and he runs over to my car and shoves the note under my windshield wiper. He's yelling the whole time at me calling me a cunt and how he wants to kick my 'fucking ass.' I drove around to the front of store looking for the security guard and he isn't around. I pull around and take the damn note off my car and leave.

My heart is racing. I really feel he would have hurt me if he could have gotten in my car.

1. Good lord. Stupidity is going to be the end of us all.
Dumb fuck saw a Fox news item on dogs being left in the heat of the car, and couldn't process it vs reality.

3. It might have reached 65 degrees in that car! Shame on you!
The guy was what we call down here in Tennessee a "Nut". You should have called the police, he was making "terrorist threats" (kicking your ass) and littering (he put the paper on your vehicle). He sounds like a very emotionally unstable individual, did he have a "W" sticker on his car?

5. Just focus on him
not his car. But the more I think about it. I think he's was sitting around waiting for some poor shopper to attack.

I'm going to call Target now and tell them.

12. By all means- call the store!
They need to know about this creep. You are right, he probably is singling out women due to a perceived notion that they won't stand up to him. Probably gets his rocks off playing "tough guy".

4. God damn
stupid ass faux viewers. Motherfuckers.

See it's easy to attack and woman. I can't compete with guy, nor would I try and yet they challege me in an unfair fight.

Sure wish I could have had a guy with me to kick his ass. He'll probably try it with the wrong person and then get his ass kicked.

8. Some people pick up on a particular problem and run with it
Maybe he thought that anyone would would ever leave a dog in a car would also leave one in a car in the hot sun. It's an excellent example of catching more flies with honey than with vinegar. If he'd approached you calmly with his concern instead of a judgmental rampage, there wouldn't have been a problem. His behavior reminds me of all the self-appointed policemen castigating people without visible handicaps for parking in handicap zones. My daughter looks perfectly healthy, but some days she can only walk twenty feet at a time because her arthritis flares up. Those are the days she takes advantage of her handicap sticker.

9. This jerk doesn't know me
I would never leave my Sweet Sara in the car if it was hot. Today I couldn't take her for a walk and she loves to go with me in the car, so I figure it was cool enough she could come. Your right had it talked with me he would have known I'm not a cruel person.

11. Too many people jump to conclusions on too little evidence
every day of the week. Just be glad this guy wasn't convinced you had WMD in the trunk!

10. when people do this (leaving animals in cars on hot days)
it's best to call the cops. I did this a few weeks ago, and they came almost immediately. I asked the dispatcher if they wanted me to go in the store and have the person paged by the liscense plate number and she said no. That's what the cops are there for. I used to confront people all the time about it (in a nice way, not a lunatic way, and explain the whole thing about why it is so dangerous for dogs to get overheated since they can't sweat and they have to pant to cool down which means they eventually end up in respiratory distress and die) but now I just call the police and the only time I would approach someone and try to educate them is if they are leaving before the cops show up.

13. I was confronted a month ago at Petsmart for dogs in the car.
It was about 90 out, I was making tags for my dogs (six of them) and it is a LONG process for each one. The tag machine was right by the front door and this lady comes in and complains to the manager about the two dogs left in the "hot" truck out front. I admit they are my dogs and the lady starts to go off about animal cruelty. I asked her if she had noticed that the truck was running? I explained to her I left it running so the air conditioning would run. She felt a little foolish but I didn't say anything else.
