think of another fashion rule that only you still follow? My daughter thinks it's cute when I say you don't wear black to a wedding.

1. I wear black at weddings.

The acquaintances I used to have told me I'm "black from the waist down" too. Doubtlessly in reference to the fact I only wear black trousers and surely nothing else... mind you, shortly after that I did start wearing oversized pairs with pleats...

All the women older than me were wearing pant suits - even his widow. It was a terribly cold day and they weren't getting any younger. I couldn't figure out why all the young women were wearing black dresses until I realized that was the only color they ever wore!

And there really never has been anything wrong with black - it's long been the one color that one can wear everywhere, to anything.

If you wore black to a wedding, it was viewed as a comment on the proceedings. According to my mother's old etiquette book, if you wear wearing black because you were in mourning, you didn't belong at a wedding anyways!

Quite a few people wore black. My hubby wore a black suit: he also wore a light blue button down shirt. The groom wore a black tux with a black shirt. His bow tie was white. I was one of a few people who didn't wear black.

Guys wearing hats indoors. Why do people think it's necessary (or fashionable) to wear a ball-cap to a restaurant? If you ever hear of me going on a tri-state killing spree, you can tell the reporters this is what set me off.

Young folks don't even realize they're wearing a hat indoors; older folks go ballistic at the disrespect. Our local school board has banned all head coverings on the grounds that the hats constituted gang colors. Oddly enough, no one has said a word about the kerchiefs some of the kids wear knotted around their pants legs.
