1. yes
Some of the lounge lizards may have picked up on this, but a few months ago my SO decided to move back to Utah. We took a month off from seeing each other while he got his thoughts together, and there were some times during that month that I wasn't sure we were going to be together. We've always had strong feelings for each other and had always talked about living together in NYC after I graduate this year, but it looked like that wouldn't happen.
Well, it looks like not only are we going to be living together, we're more in love than ever-- only instead of living in NYC it looks like I'll be living in Utah :o

Very pleasent suprise, albeit a little scary! (a die hard socialist/biologist living in Utah? lol)

4. thank you =)
Utah is beautiful-- which is great because we're both outdoors people. We can't wait to be able to go camping regularly :hi:

What about you MoseyWalker-- surely you've been suprised lately?

14. It is
Especially since I am going through a depressing phase of my life -it's a wonderful boost to your self-confidence and self-esteem when they give you an award unexpectedly out of nowhere.

Thanks petersond!:yourock: :yourock:

16. Tnanks Lizziegrace
Actually I'm not quite sure what I did to deserve it but they were pretty insistent that I deserved it, so I'll have to take them at their word.

Thank you for your kind words Lizziegrace -they are greatly valued and appreciated on my part. And thank you very much for your support, encouragement and friendship :yourock: :yourock:

6. Surprised? Yeah. In a good way? Ummmm.....
Uhhh.....Hmmm....

Oh! I have a new and very cool friend that resulted from one of the numerous bad surprises I've had lately.

Her name's Mary - and she's one of the only Democrats living in Wyoming. She rules!

10. Yes, for my birthday.
My birthday was in late August and I had my two out of town brothers and their wives come into town to celecbrate. It was completely unexpected, but I loved the fact that they made the effort. We had a very enjoyable weekend.

15. finding my long lost cat, happily moved in with a lovely couple
a few houses away. We were sure she was dead, and by a fluke I found out she is not. She is happy, loved and well cared for, I could not ask for more for her.

My husband returned today from a work trip and I made him take a walk with me, not knowing what we were going to find..he had no clue. He was most pleased to see her!

18. yes, and very touched..
When I was in the hospital in July having hernia surgery I was pretty well drugged up on Dilaudid <sp>.
when my sister telephoned. I live about 5.5 hours from my sister and rest of my family. They can't seem to be bothered to come visit, I am the one who does the travelling to see them. My brother has called me once in 6 years. I remember telling my husband how disappointed I am at never seeing my family and realizing that I just don't mean a lot to them really hurts. Anyway, I'd called my sister about a week prior to surgery to discuss some business re: our father and to let her know I was having surgery. She said she'd call and check on me and we hung up. True to her word, she called me the day I had surgery and we talked for a few minutes. I fell asleep and sort of woke up a little and could have sworn I saw my sister sitting by my bed. Couldn't be though, she'd just called ... I slept again for a bit and when I awakened she was still there! How could that be? ... It WAS her, she WAS there .. I wasn't dreaming after all. She had called me from the hospital lobby and then waited a bit and made her way to my room to surprise me! I cried like a baby, my sister had driven 3.5 hours to see ME! I was in hospital 2 hours from here, 2 hours closer to her, made the drive that much easier.

That had to be the best surprise of all. I mattered. She drove to see me!

23. Yes...
I was offered a position as an undergraduate research assistant to my history professor...which means I can quit my shitty job at DPS (where I have to walk around campus in the dark for five hours a week). Since we have to work 75 hours per semester for our scholarships at my university, this is probably the best thing available.

:woohoo:

24. Hmmm. Not really surprised. Always fascinated though - like when I look
Edited on Mon Sep-04-06 01:36 AM by qnr
at rain and know that major portions of it are water droplets that formed around meteoric particles that have been flying through space at tens of thousands of miles per hour, since before the formation of the solar system, billions of years ago. Recently, the Earth plowed through them and they got slowed down by the atmosphere to a speed of just a few feet per hour, whereupon water molecules started accumulating on them until the mass was too heavy to stay aloft, so it fell through the sky and landed on my face.

Surprised? Not really. Fascinated? Constantly.

25. Yes.
My ex-wife did something nice for me a couple of months ago, and so I did something nice for her as well. I think we are friends again, which makes me happy for me, for her, and for our adult children.
