an ode to codependency
still, sam moore has an awesome, soulful voice

When something is wrong with my baby
Something is wrong is me
And if I know that she's worried
I know I'd feel the same misery

We've been through so much together
We stand as one
That's what makes it better
When something is wrong with my baby
Something is wrong with me

Just what she means to me now
Oh you just you just wouldn't understand
People can say that she's no good
But she's my woman and I know I'm her man

And if he's got a problem
Woo-oah I know I got to help him solve 'em
When something is wrong with my baby
Something is wrong with me
When something is wrong with my baby
Something is wrong with my baby
When something is wrong with my baby
Something is wrong with me

2. in a sense you're right
when you strip love of the therapyspeak and injunctions against what they now consider "unhealthy" and drown yourself in the simplicity of affection, that can be very nice. until reality rears its ugly head.

3. Man..
.... I'm cynical but.... There is a such thing a real love, where the reality is not ugly. Keep looking :)

And yes, i scoff at the idea of "co-dependency". It's only bad if it's bad. Of course, I scoff at many psychological ideals, such as the idea jealousy is 100% bad.

Clue for y'all - if your SO never gets jealous no matter what, it might be because s/he could give two shits whether you stay or you go. That's not good, as my first wife found out :)

7. Reality can put a damper on lots of things. There is no perfect world.

Going through bad times may take the luster off of infatuation but true love transcends all.
