18. Macro-Economics research paper. I decided to write about oil prices.

Greg Palast got me started on it after I read his latest book. I'm dreading having to present this in class, ack. Still not sure where I want to take it, other than Saudi Arabia is BAD!:-)

yours sounds 1000x more interesting then mine at least. Can't you talk about about the Saudi Araibian business and political ties to Americans in those areas, and how those American's actions and policy are always serving the Saudi Arabian interests over American ones?

29. Well, kinda staying high level if you know what I mean. I'm talking more

specifically on oil prices and gas prices in a broad aspect. So many moving pieces and I'm not really an economist, so trying to keep things understandable. So I went through the current situation and then did some calculations about how much gas prices have risen since Dubya took office, since the start of the Iraq war,etc. Then I got into Hubbert's Peak a bit and how that's whacked, history of OPEC. I just finished off a discussion of the loss of spare capacity conveniently around the time of the invasion of Iraq and how Iraq's daily capacity could rival Saudi Arabia's thus driving down oil prices so it's not in Saudi Arabia's best interest to allow Iraq up off the mat. I'm not sure if I want to go into Venezuela's problems around the same time and their loss of production due to our little intervention there.

I'm not sure why I'm really bothering writing all this anyways. I could have aimed much lower and still gotten my A in this class. Oh well.

31. This teacher is pretty laid back. I kinda doubt he's even going to really

look at the paper. He said between 10-12 pages, nothing major really. I'm on page 7 of text, gotta a few supporting charts and such as exhibits. So I just need to write a few more pages and add a biblio. I'm entirely making too big of a project of this and procrastinating like crazy. I have senior-itis I think. I should have been able to knock this out already, but I really can't get motivated even though I picked an interesting topic to me so I'm sitting here writing a little and then chatting on DU.:-)
