I was looking for a recipe for pickles,and it calls for a head of dill in each jar. Having no idea what a head of dill looks like, I tried to Google it. Look at this weird site. - I have absolutely no idea what is being discussed here, but the pics are interesting!

Holy cow, that seems like a lot. Maybe I'll just substitute dill seed instead. I"m new to canning, so I'm just looking up basic dill pickle recipes. Thanks for the help! :hi:

It must be a head of dill. Really, it doesn't take up much room. Gawd, I miss my grandmother's dills... her, too, for that matter. (Dont' forget the garlic.)

Quotation marks are very useful for Google searches, eg "head of dill" :)

11. what you need re: the head of dill SHOULD be

pretty easily available at the grocery store -- when you see it -- it won't look quite so daunting.

however the dill seed would still be easier.
