I don't care what you elitist "chefs" say...
Rice-a-roni is good stuff. I haven't had it in years, but they had it for cheap so I bought some for fast cookin. It's not bad really.

1. Buy the beef rice a roni
brown a pound of ground beef and put aside.
Make rice a roni as directed and when you put in the water and seasoning mix add the cooked beef and cook as directed.
Serve with rolls and butter

I usually do not cover this as the directions say. Sometimes it dries out to much

2. A twist on this
Instead of the beef, get the chicken and add some precooked grilled chicken strips. There's still way too much sodium in it, but it's a quick and dirty meal.

I haven't made that recipe in a long time....
hubby had a heart attack in June so I am learning how to cook differently

5. I have trouble cooking it right
The part where I am supposed to cook the dry stuff in butter, getting the pasta golden. It starts sticking to the bottom for me so I add water before it gets golden. I don't know why it doesn't work for me.
