3. I've gotten my kids to love all of 'em
Edited on Tue Sep-05-06 12:36 AM by reyd reid reed
except the lima beans. They can't stand 'em either. I mean...huh? I just don't get it.

And rhubarb's gotta have lots of sugar...I've been wanting a strawberry rhubarb pie for months now but it's been too damn hot to bake one. Now that it's cooling off...the season's over. Although I do have two quarters of strawberries sitting at home in the fridge, waiting for me...

:9

Yummmmmmm....

(edited to add: Whoops...not just the lima beans. I haven't gotten them to go for the brussels sprouts, either.)

7. Lima beans are slimy on the outside,
and mushy on the inside. My kids loved vegetables. They would not except a lima bean if it was attached to candy. I wonder if I influenced them?

8. Really?
Now...okra's like that but...maybe I cook 'em different? My lima beans aren't slimy or mushy. They're smooth on the outside and just a bit crisp so's they almost snap when you bite 'em.

I forgot okra though...slimy and mushy or crispy and fried...YUMMMMMMMMM...

9. Here in Michigan it's been in the 70's for two weeks.
My neighbor has been baking and cooking for 2 weeks. Cool nights and days of smelling what ever herbs and spices that Albanians cook with are driving me to learn how to cook outside midwestern cooking.

20. Fennel ROCKS
It's absolutely necessary sometimes...without fennel, life wouldn't be worth living...

Cabbage, on the other hand, I can do without very nicely, thankyouverymuch.

(My mom used to boil it with hot dogs....:puke: )

13. Another proud lima bean lover here
I like everything you've listed. In fact, I can't really think of any fruits/veggies that I don't like, although I'm sure some exist.

But lima beans? With some butter, salt and pepper? Yum!

19. Blech to cauliflower and rhubarb
Love the rest of them. ESPECIALLY lima beans -- my favorite!

My name for Brussels Sprouts when I was a kid: grumple stones. My family still calls them that.

I don't see any reason for cauliflower to exist, though. It has no taste and a terrible texture.

28. It doesn't have much taste, I'll admit
But that makes people's dislike of it that much more puzzling.

But...I gave up trying to figure people out loooong ago.

25. I love spinach, asparagus, broccoli and lima beans too.
I don't mind celery and sometimes put it in soup or hotdish, but I don't eat it plain.

I don't care for cauliflower, rhubarb, or brussels sprouts.

Load me up on the spinach, asparagus, broccoli, and lima beans, though!

29. Yay!!!
I like cauliflower much better when it's cooked in butter but mostly I eat it mixed with other veggies...it really doesn't have much flavor on its own. Brussels sprouts I love...always have. And rhubarb...yummmm.

Out of all of 'em, I think asparagus is probably my favorite. Might be my favorite vegetable period. I love that stuff...I could sit down and make a meal of it.
