Two Southern California cuties looking for love.
Edited on Tue Sep-05-06 10:20 AM by Mr. McD
Two little street urchins in need of loving home. Mama moved them into our garage a few weeks ago. We already have two cats and can't keep them. 1 boy and 1 girl.

7. PLEASE take them to your nearest LA County Animal Shelter. Gorgeous little
kittens like this are never, ever put down. They're cared for and adopted out to good families and get vaccinated and most importantly spayed. So will the mom. She looks very sweet and that's what people want the most.

You'll be doing them a great favor by preventing more abandoned kittens.

I worked with the LA county shelters for more than 10 years. They're great people. The one in Santa Monica is excellent.

8. My girlfriend is looking to get a male kitty for her daughter.
I will show her this thread tonight. I assume the male is the tabbie, right?

We were not considering the shelter because we were concerned they may be put down. We don't have the mother she won't let us any where near her.

13. Oh god, please do your best to get the momma cat
cats go in heat so fast.... They are beautiful babies. I'd take them but I'm in Las Vegas

Good Luck with the momma and I pray her lil cat angels will send her your way so she can get to the shelter asap.

16. The shelter will absolutely not put the kittens down unless they're
deathly sick with contagious diseases or horrifically injured. The LA County shelters rely on the cute little kittens as their bread and butter income; they're the ones that always get adopted, it's not a kitten processing plant by any means!

You need to head over the Centinela Feed and Supply and rent or buy a Hav-A-Hart trap; catch the mom and take her to the shelter too, or contact a local vet who will fix (feral) cats and then release her back into your neighborhood once she's spayed. Then you'll stop the inhumane cycle of inbred kittens perpetuating in your neighborhood. The shelter offers very low cost spaye and nueter services that are tops, which could be a better deal for the mom cat. KFC is the best bait you can use in a cat trap!

Transport the cat to the shelter/vet while in the trap, don't try to get her out. She can be anesthetized while in the cage, and then operated on.

If you can't manage to find the kittens a home, this honestly is your best course of action. You're doing a great thing!!! Big hugs!
