Oh I had to cut off all his curls!
Ugh..
i tried to "fix" his hair...
his top was getting long and straight and the back was very extremely curly...
so i tried to cut the top to get it curly again..
well..
it looked like a curly mullet ...
so i had to shave it all off....
here is the before...

after

I RUINED IT...
WAAAAA!!!

2. Oh they are both beautiful.
I know what you mean, though. That gorgeous silky curly baby hair. We hate to see it go.

Hang in there!

6. Funny how it's so different for everyone
For your son and mine, when their hair gets long, it gets curly.

Cut mine short, and the curls spring into action... let it grow, and it's very straight.

Your boys are beautiful.

7. I kinda know how you feel
When my son was about 2 1/2, he had beautiful locks of soft brown hair - it was so pretty. One day, his dad decided it was time to get a "real" haircut and he took him into the bathroom where I soon heard the electric clippers going. He gave him a buzz cut! When they walked out (in triumph), I burst into tears - "You turned him into a MARINE!" I wailed.

However, once I got over the shock, I realized that it was very cute and also more practical. Easier to keep clean and untangled (since there was nothing to tangle) and cooler on his little head.

Both kids are just adorable, by the way - with and without the curls.

8. I had to do the same when my son was a little guy.
He had gorgeous golden loose curls. I loved them, and didn't want to cut his hair. Finally, I got tired of explaining that "she" was actually a "he." He got his first hair cut and bye bye curls. However, he has gorgeous incredibly thick brown hair that gets lots of compliments now.

9. My wife just brought our 2 year old by after his first haircut.
She brought him by just a few minutes ago, he didn't look like the same kid without his curls. Our girl is 4 and hasn't had a hair cut either.

10. aw
don't be sad, mom. I hated to have my son's curly hair cut too, at that age.

and now if I don't have it cut very frequently, he looks like he has dreads.... ;)

very cute little ones!

11. I know just how you feel
Only it was not me who cut my sun's curls, it was his dad, claiming he looked like a girl with the curls. every "wing ding" gone. sigh.

He's 31 now, still curly, very handsome.

Yours are absolutely beautiful! Enjoy.
