Have you run a marathon in Antarctica? Or know where do they do it?

I found out over the weekend that Antarctica has a marathon, instituted a couple years ago, just so that some organization could offer medals to people who have done marathons on all seven continents.

But the article about it didn't mention where or how they did the Antarctica one - I can't believe they'd do it outside, which makes me think they must do like 72000 laps at the gym in McMurdo.

Do you know the answer to this question?

If you want to run a marathon run the Marathon du Medoc!

It's run through the wine country of France and includes 21 wine stops, cheese and oyster stations, bands, and costumes. The 1st place and last place finishers get their body weight in wine.

My wife and ran that one in 2004.
