1. I drive a Yamaha Riva to commute 16 miles one way |
|
The staff, my family and I use a Honda Spree around the farm.
We. Love. Them!
Great gas mileage and a fun scoot to work.
We use a helmet though since we are really safety oriented. We also wear a day glo safety vest and boots. We drive very defensively since it's true - people on the road aren't looking out for small motorized bikes.
I'm not brave on wet roads or in rain. Everyone has a different tolerance level for that kind of stuff and mine is pretty much zero. My husband will ride it out without breaking a sweat but I am freaky about skidding (obviously that's happened to me - him too, he just has a higher tolerance for risk than I).
Good luck. There are a fair few scooter riders here on DU!

3. My wife and I both got Vespas |
|
LX 50's this summer. We are having lots of fun with then so far. They are pricey, $3200 each, but very cool. Advice: Always wear a helmet!
