1. star trek theme lyrics
Beyond
The rim of the star-light
My love
Is wand'ring in star-flight
I know
He'll find in star-clustered reaches
Love,
Strange love a star woman teaches.
I know
His journey ends never
His star trek
Will go on forever.
But tell him
While he wanders his starry sea
Remember, remember me.

2. Funny, under the end credits it always sounded like:
"oooooo OOOO....
ooo ooo ooo oo oooooooo
ooo ooo OOOOO
ooo ooo ooo oo oooooooo..."
etc etc

:D

4. That's because it is so hard for the Trekkies to talk to women
except, of course, for the their mothers

6. Those lyrics are bullshit
And by that I mean "invented by Gene Roddenberry because he's a greedy bastard"

Why do I say that? Because even if those lyrics were never performed, he got half of the composer's royalties. Every single time that theme song was played, anywhere, half the check went to him.

For lame, unsingable lyrics.

8. Well, not really IMHO
"Star Trek" was his property, and he made millions off of it.

The *theme* from Star Trek, OTOH, was not his, but rather composer Alexander Courage's. Roddenberry just made sure he jumped on the bandwagon with his "lyrics" and stole half of Courage's profits.

He also made sure he was listed as co-author of "The Making of Star Trek" (which sold millions of copies), even though Stephen Whitfield did all the research and writing.

10. Yes indeed
Too bad he couldn't be satisfied with the millions he had, but had to also steal it out of the pockets of composers, authors, and script writers.

and it was interesting to see how melodramatic and "Actor's Studioish" they were. I had forgotten that.

14. Speak for yourself!
I work at a company as a senior software engineer that was founded by an unabashed Star Trek (Scotty) fan. I married a hard core Star Trek girl who loves writing, AND we just bought a killer 3200 sq ft home in Seattle WA at 30% below market on a 15 yr fixed mortgage that I can pay off in 5 years! So take THAT, underpants!
