Brooke Shields in "The Bachelor." (She was also really good on "Nip/Tuck" last night.)

Farrah Fawcett in "The Burning Bed." (She was also amazing in "Extremities.")

Richard Dawson in "The Running Man." (Yeah, it was a game-show host role--but a GREAT one.)

Jerry Lewis in "The King of Comedy." (Who knew he could do drama?)

Madonna in "Evita." (She rose to the occasion; if you must quibble, quibble with the role.)

1. Halle Berry in "Monster's Ball"

surprised the hell out of me. Took major chances on that, and has been getting flack ever since

Jennifer Lopez in "The Wedding Planner" something I got sucked into on cable. Very funny performance.

I didn't expect them to pull it off at the level they did, ESPECIALLY Catherine Zeta Jones. She was brilliant.
