Anyone here ever had giardia?
I have all the symptoms and can't really afford to go to the doctor. THANKS BUSH! :grr: Should I bite the bullet and go or just let it pass (no pun intended)? I'll avoid talking about the other symptoms, but you can probably take a good guess what they are. I feel fatigued, dizzy and queasy, but it's not keeping me from eating and I'm drinking gallons of water and green tea.

A neighborhood dog that we play with every evening had it a few weeks ago, so it's a possibility.

1. Do you have powdered Jello mix?
Okay, this was the cure when I worked with kids. Let's just say that I always had powdered Jello on hand.

Mix two heaping teaspoonfuls into a mug of drinkable hot water. Drink the mugful. The Jello sets up in your innards and will usually slow down what's happening.

Of course, if it gets any worse, you'll need medical advice.

2. I'm trying fiber first
but that does sound like it might work. I'm guessing it doesn't kill the critter though.

3. As a medical professional
I can only urge you to seek treatment from a doctor. If there is a free clinic or low cost health care provider I would seek out them. Giardia infections can cause excessive diarrhea. The doctor could give you Flagyl to help treat the infection. Here is a link to a fact sheet from the CDC about Giardiasis.
