i know this is spitting in the wind, but: i wish america could focus on smart people in game shows as much as screaming people in game shows.

Ken Jennings has a new book coming out (or perhaps it's already out) about his experience on Jeopardy. At some point, he mentions the fact that it's one of the last bastions of true meritocracy in American society.

I thought that was an apt and telling observation.
