Sports betting handicappers?

If these fuckers are so good and can successfully bet on games and get rich, why the fuck are they trying to charge other people money to tell them how to bet?

And it's a rule. The rich just get richer. I don't know about where you live but this time of year, we run the line on the scoreboard page of the sports section. It's around...Harrah's puts out odds and there's another one...Grantz or something like that.

What I can't figure out is why people want to put their hard-earned money on the outcome of a football game (or basketball or golf or baseball or whatever), anyway.

2. It wouldn't matter to me if it was sports or the stock market.

If it guaranteed a good return on the money, why not do it? And if you can do that, why try to fleece others for the information. The information itself would be sufficient for one to "get rich."

But there are a lot of professional handicappers out there trying to charge people money to tell them what games to bet on. If these handicappers were so adept at betting on the right games, they would not waste their time trying to market/sell their alleged skills to the masses. No?

3. Exactly.

They might be lucky...but there's no such thing as a 'sure thing'. When you play the odds, you're gonna get burned every once in a while and that includes the professionals. The closest thing they have to that elusive 'sure thing' is the fact that other people WILL pay for their advice. So...they're hedging their bets.

And you're right...it doesn't make any sense and it just doesn't seem morally right, especially when these 'professional' handicappers Could be wrong.
