Police say Paris Hilton arrested in Hollywood for alleged DUI.
Edited on Thu Sep-07-06 05:33 AM by Cannikin
LOS ANGELES - Paris Hilton was arrested early Thursday for investigation of driving under the influence, police said.

Hilton was arrested shortly before 12:30 a.m. in Hollywood, said police Officer I. Isabella, who declined to give his first name.

"The officers observed that Hilton exhibited the symptoms of intoxication. A field sobriety test was conducted at scene, and the officers determined she was driving under the influence," Isabella said, reading a police statement.

Hilton was booked on suspicion of misdemeanor DUI and released, he said.

Her spokesman, Elliot Mintz, confirmed the arrest and said she had the minimum blood-alcohol level to warrant an arrest. The legal limit in California is 0.08 percent.

"She's absolutely fine," Mintz said.

At the time of her arrest, Hilton was driving home from a charity event where she had one drink, he said. She had spent the day shooting a music video for her new album.

The DUI was "probably the result of an empty stomach and working all day and being fatigued," Mintz said.

In June, Hilton had a fender-bender accident when her Range Rover backed into a car in a parking garage after a shopping trip

1. Great. Just great. More publicity for her.
Has she had her 15 minutes yet?

3. Usually I don't resent celebrities.
Edited on Thu Sep-07-06 05:40 AM by elperromagico
The majority of them have gotten where they are due to at least some talent. Some of them were simply in the right place in the right time; there's nothing wrong with good timing.

But when it comes to Paris Hilton, the poster child for the Lucky Sperm Club who is famous for being famous and becomes more famous because being famous makes her more famous, I do feel a slight twinge of resentment. It's a damn circle jerk, for Christ's sake.

9. My thoughts exactly

I have great contempt for this women, because she has absolutely no discernable talent other than just being born famous. To think there are countless talented bands and musicians out there living hand to mouth with no deal creating inspiring music at the same time this person is handed a record deal, 10 songs she didn’t write, a video, and lots of publicity shows just how moronic we are.

You mustn't have seen the famous video, then. From what I've read, she seems to be talented as all get out!

15. You had me worried for a moment.
I was wondering who would want their daughter to grow up to be a vapid twit with no use other than to blow money and demand attention.

Unless, of course, they stole it. Or were drunk and driving a car while eating it.

22. If she just blew a 0.08 then yeah, she probably did only have one drink
especially at her weight and on an empty stomach. I hate Paris Hilton as much as the next person, but I'm not going to get all worked up over a DUI at that low a blood alcohol level.
