I HATE YOU BRITS!!!
Man! You lot are so lucky! When you guys get DVDs, it's only in shrinkwrap and easy to open.

In America, we get the shrinkwrap too. However, they add THREE pieces of tape over the sides and front spine that read "SECURITY DEVICE ENCLOSED". These things are bloody near impossible to remove without damaging the plastic keepcase. You'd think that one piece of 'reminder annoying tape' is sufficient, but noooooooo. We Americans are so thick, we need 3 of them on every conceivable surface.

Grr.

(OMG, the Toad buys UK DVDs. He knows our secrets! Let's kidnap him and send him to Britan! :woohoo: )

4. You guys also get more extras by default...
We get two or more editions; the basic one that comes out first. A year or more later comes the "special" edition, which is the standard one the British get.

Mind you, the US version of "Death Becomes Her: The Immortal Release" or whatever they want to name it hasn't come out yet, while the same movie, extras and all, has been out in the UK for years. (you guessed it, I bought the UK disc... great movie!)

True, most of what I like is British. TV is still garbage, but the British know how to make garbage look smart. :D

11. I love Brit TV
Edited on Thu Sep-07-06 10:36 PM by Liberalynn
too. Especially their mystery series. I have been watching Murder City, and I watched an episode of Wire In the Blood on BBC America on Demand. I also liked Sea of Souls. By the way, can any of the Brits here tell me whether Sea of Souls has been renewed and will be filming new episodes?

Love their comedies too: Keeping Up Apperances, As Time Goes By, Are you Being Served.

My guilty pleasures are Cash in the Attic, Changing Rooms, and House Invaders. I have crushes on Laurence L. Bowen, Grahm Wynn, Phil Turner, Allistair Appleton, and Paul Hayes. What can I say.

12. Their documentary shows are great too!
Any documentaries with Michael Palin or Terry Jones or John Cleese are Number One! in my book.

10. Boxcutter, Hypno!
Taught me by a friend a number of years ago, and it's the only way I open those *(@&%$# things now. I just take the boxcutter blade and cut right through the tape and the cellophane wrapping. VOILA and LICKITY SPLIT! It's open.

Then, if one wants, the tape is easily pealed off.
