I mean you people constantly bash my beloved (cough) city of Detroit...

It's football team sucks you people say... I say we have the best crappy team in the country. They have nice uniforms.

You say people come here expecting to get robbed.... I say...well duh, that's why you never own anything of value or carry any money on you.

I mean, Jeebus... Detroit is the best!

So, How does it feel?

In case you didn't get it... :sarcasm:

23. Actually, that's pretty much how I feel
and there's only one city over 150,000 that I ever have any dealings with. I won't name names, but it knows who it is.

9. I had to look it up
but RAF Lakenheath is 25 miles from Cambridge, which puts it in my general sort of area, yes. (Of course an American would put all of England in my general sort of area).

6. I've always liked the Lions' unies
And Detroit used to be synonomous with the coolest cars on the planet, and Briggs Stadium was a sweet-lookin' ball yard.

Oh, and let's not forget the Woodward Dream Cruise.

during my recent 'bout of the sicklies.

In my defense, the Creeping Wisconsin Cheese Flu sucked my brain out and replaced it with snot.

16. The best thing about the Lions' unies...
...is the dominant color, alongside the silver. For whatever reason lost to history, it is known as Honolulu Blue!

No one knows why. Not even 5thGenDem, an ex-sportswriter in Saginaw, knows why.

Say, if they continue to suck, would you let us take them off your hands? With the time change, the "Honolulu Blues" would be the late game every (home) week!

And besides, only one other U.S. city, Buffalo, is directly across from Canada -- and Windsor has a hell of a lot more Timmies, beer stores, etc., than Fort Erie, Ont.!

20. Try defending Salt Lake City...
Other than our Mayor (Rocky Anderson) and the view and the arts, what do you have? Oh yeah and the snow here is pretty damn good too if you like skiing powder.

I haven't been to Detroit since I was a little kid. I have a couple of friends that live there now and one of these days I am going to visit again.

21. Some of us WANT our lights poked out!
http://archives.cnn.com/2002/TECH/space/03/29/dark.skies/

TUCSON, Arizona (CNN) -- We take it for granted, the well-lit night.
But it is a relatively new phenomenon. Besides confusing animals and
disorienting the human body, artificial night lighting hampers amateur
and professional sky watchers.

One group of scientists in Arizona knows what light pollution can do.
Their optical instruments require much more time to soak in the faint
light levels necessary to detect distant objects in the universe.

The mountains of southern Arizona boast a number of major observatories.
But in the valley below the shimmering city of Tucson threatens their view.

The city imposed light control rules in the 1970s, in large part to keep the
sky dark for the sake of astronomy.

http://archives.cnn.com/2000/US/08/24/dimming.the.lights.ap/index.html

A starry night fuels debate over light pollution in Arizona
larger

TUCSON, Arizona (AP) -- For astronomers in Tucson, Arizona, keeping the sky dark is a
matter of their survival. For business owners, keeping the sky lighted up means much the same thing.

Both sides are clashing over one of the nation's stiffest county ordinances intended to keep
nighttime skies dark around a pair of observatories.

Nearby business owners are lobbying Pima County to modify the ordinance, which
regulates outdoor lighting levels for new construction and extensive renovations,
before it takes effect in late September.

Local businesses, including a chain of convenience stores, oppose the measure
because they say it would jeopardize the safety of their customers and employees.
