I was responding to your rhetorical question about what people would do if Dean were the nominee. I think it's the same thing the Dean supporters would do if Dean is NOT the nominee. To be precise, I believe both camps will:

Bitch and moan a lot for awhile
Vote for the Dem candidate
Say "I told you so" if the Dem candidate loses.

20. I hate to break it to you, but this is nothing

compared to what the Republicans will do to Dean (or any candidate) once election season is in full swing.

We'd better get used to it, and we'd better be prepared to give as good as we get. One of the big mistakes Gore made was in not fighting back. One of the things I like about Dean and several of our candidates is that they won't pull punches.

One of the advantages of having to face several primary opponents is the fact that it acclimates you to fighting. By the time we have a nominee, he/she will be ready to deal with any and all attacks. He/she will be battle-hardened.

Note: I made considerable edits. I edit a lot of my messages, but this edit was so substantial that I felt the need to note it.
