What's your Perfect Sandwich?
I update mine a couple of times a month. This is my perfect sandwich right now:

Sourdough bread, lightly grilled
Roasted turkey breast
Bacon
Avocado
Sprouts
Onion
Lettuce
Muenster Cheese
Thousand Island dressing
Cucumbers
And a small amount of mayo

When Mr Dunderbak's in Raleigh was open, I could still order that. :9

8. Awhile, actually.
Sometimes I make them in my Foreman. But they're just not as good as they make them down at the gelateria.

Oh, my other favorite is left-over turkey, cheddar, white bread, and yellow mustard. I don't get those very often either.

25. Pork loin (Costco has great ones) covered in barbecue sauce cooked
on low for three - four hours in a Crock Pot. Remove and thinly slice or pull apart. Return to cooker for 1 - 2 hours.

Roasted Red Peppers and Bearnaise sauce on a fresh french baguette. It's called the Earl of Bearnaise and I'm going to Henry VIIIs tonight to get one too!

two big pieces of sourdough

shaved ham
shaved turkey
swiss cheese
cheddar

butter the bread, layer the ingredients (butter side down in the pan :P..)

sprinkle the toasted side of the bread with a bit of garlic powder and grated parmesan..

when the cheese is all melted, carefully "open" the sandwich and put finely shredded lettuce and paper-thin tomato slices..
sprinkle with more parmesan just before serving..

The sandwich originated with an old Italian guy whose family owned a bowling alley we used to bowl at,. They had a very good restaurant in it, and the partiarch, Dominic, took a liking to my boisterous boys.. (3 rowdy little rats, at that time).. he would always round them up ,and sneak them hot dogs & cokes after we said "no". (we ate before we went bowling, and they cost us a fortune in video-game money already, so we told them ONE coke and NO snacks)

anyway, old Dom would pull them aside and treat them to stuff from the kitchen..one night he went back and made them this sandwich..His version (piled pretty high , cut into three pieces, fed all of them with one sandwich :)

After that, they always would ask me to make them a Dominic..:)

It's a family favorite :)

The ONLY thing I'd ever add to such a thing would be Italian seasoning. I really like to hear about people's versions of sandwiches, because they seem to be tailor-made.

those long, skinny pickle wedges, shredded lettuce, thin tomato slices, rolled up in the warm whole wheat flat bread made right on the spot. The garlic sauce is what make it memorable. Sold at Mama's Bakery and Lebanese Deli at Alabama Street and El Cajon Blvd. in San Diego.

Take a fresh, soft torpedo roll and split it open. On the 2 flat surfaces, spread a thin layer of mayonnaise. Place slices of Muenster cheese on one and mild cheddar on the other. Place this in a toaster oven for a few minutes until the cheese is melted. Take out and sprinkle seasoning salt lightly on top of the cheese. Arrange very thinly sliced onions on top of both, very thinly sliced tomato on one, then place pieces of lettuce on top of the tomato, then take the other half and turn it over and place on top of the lettuce. Cut in half and eat immediatlely while still warm. Heavenly.

68. You're welcome. A little seasoning salt makes virtually any sandwich
a lot better. And the thin layer of mayonnaise on the bread is the secret to a really great grilled cheese sandwich.

70. Do you know something I love that's new to me
is eggplant on sandwiches. There's a greek place nearby, and they have eggplant sandwiches with tomato sauce, cheese or no cheese. The spices are exactly right (to my taste, anyway). And black pepper on sandwiches is so good. :9 I just ate & I'm getting hungry again!

You could order it on either multi-grain or baguette (I had no real preference over either).

Grilled Tofu-Lin (a marinated baked tofu)
Smoked Jarlsberg Cheese
Leafy Lettuce
Honey Mustard
Granny Smith Apple Slices

It could almost be made with turkey for the carnivore types.

But, I would add...one slice of provolone cheese, a nice fat piece of lettuce, and onions....maybe a bell pepper slice or too...hmm, and double roast beef!...:hi:
