Have there ever been documentaed cases of cats killing newborns? I am hearing all kinds of advice. Should I just put the baby in a box and deliver her to thye pound?

1. Nope, it's medieval superstition |

Actually having a pet around reduces the likelihood of some allergies later on. The only problem comes up when they're toddlers and it takes a few scratches before they take admonitions not to bother the cat seriously.

2. do you mean a cat killing a human newborn? |
|
if so, you would never want to leave a human baby alone with any animal. Accidents happen. A cat could smother a baby just by sleeping on it. But cat's rarely (if ever) attack human babies.
