Doctor prescribes beer for breakfast for patient in the hospital

who is going through DT's. I swear this is the truth.

He told the nurses to go and get the guy a six pack of Heineken, and they did. He gets one beer with each meal.

His family told them that he didn't really like Heineken, and wanted to have Budweiser instead. The doctor let them bring in a twelve pack.

THIS IS ABSOLUTELY TRUE!

Needless to say, this hospital is in a rural area, but damn.

Beer for breakfast, and it's prescribed by a physician.

Obviously I have no link to provide because it is happening at my local hospital.

and I have no idea if this guys liver is so shot their just trying to make him happy before he kicks the bucket, but still, I don't know too many other places in this country that would allow this. I'm all for it, though, because I know the doc, and he is well respected.

she should have a beer or two every day to help her gain weight. :shrug:

6. My midwife told me that a glass of beer or

wine a day (small measured serving) would help me w/ nursing.

I had no problems following her advice.
