Anyone else follow lonelygirl15's videos on You Tube?

I'm too old for this stuff. However, I was on You Tube
looking for funny cat videos for my kids, and I clicked
on "highest rated" and saw that lonelygirl's videos had
more than half a million hits.

I thought she was charming and pretty funny.

Now, she's everywhere! My husband said she was exposed as a
fake. I haven't been able to confirm that.

Again, I'm too old for this stuff--but for some reason I
am intrigued.

Anyone else familiar with lonelygirl15?

2. Well....there's speculation...

...that she really isn't "Bree" and that everything you see
on the video is scripted and produced by professionals.

...and that "Bree" and her boyfriend are actors.

5. I think she's fake

I didn't think much of her for awhile. At first I thought she was just a pretty 16 year old with a really good camera and a 'boyfriend' who could help her do cool videos...etc..like everyone. I wasn't hooked or anything, but enough people were that whenever she had a new video out I saw it. I didn't always watch them, and still haven't seen them all and probably never will, but enough to be familiar.

She's totally fake though.

1) Parents so conservative they pulled her out of school because there was a backdoor to the classroom and students could just come and go. So she's homeschooled. Yet they let her 18 year old boyfriend and her spend hours in there alone with the door closed. That doesn't jive.

2) The picture of Aleister Crowley on the wall. She's made several remarks abotu how she's private about her religion because she doesn't want people to make fun of her. People expected that to mean mormonism or judaism or greek orthodox or something. She wouldn't elaborate, yet when her 'boyfriend' was lighting candles on her dresser (taking along time to do it) he started to light the ones under the picture frame of Crowley and she freaked out and made him stop. Yet the camera nicely panned up to the picture, and everyone could see it. So she's some sort of Thelema or Occultist or something, and doesn't want people to know, yet allows that part to be broadcast on Youtube.

3) She doesn't know how to edit the videos, and her 'boyfriend' does it for her, yet when they were supposedly fighting, her video's were still very well edited. How? He wasnt' talking to her but he was editing her videos?

4) They don't generally remark on specific events and if they do they're very isolated. She says things like "some of you have been saying.." but no specific responses to any commentary.

5) The websites 'lonelygirl15" and 'whoislonelygirl" etc were registered BEFORE her first video was uploaded onto youtube, and were then used as sites supposedly devoted to her, and later the 'mystery'. Big mistake.

6) one of the videos she 'rates' cookie receipes that 'people' sent her and she makes 3 of them, and then rates the cookies. the first one a 10, the second a 12, and the third an 06. not 6. An '06'. 10/12/06 is Aleister Crowley's birthday this year.

There are others. Whether she's an actress trying to break on the scene with some help of friends, or she's part of some director's pre=marketing hype for a new horror movie, or she's just some 16 year old trying to fuck with people, it's not on the up and up.

I'll pay attention to see what happens, but they pretty much screwed up making it seem real (if it wsa their intention to hide it still).
