Listening to the new live Rush album...
...Rush In Rio. I actually am enjoying it. It has sentimental value for me because I saw the Vapor Trails tour in August 2002. This album being from the end of that tour has most of the same songs in the same order. Rush and Dream Theater are my two favorite prog bands. Your comments about Rush. NOT the blowhard conservative Pundit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1. Holy Koresh, you scared me!
I thought you were warning us that Rush Limbaugh teamed with Mannheim Steamroller!

4. The DVD is very good
We saw the lads in Nashville on their tour last year. They have announced a tour for 2004, but nothing more specific than Europe and North America.

6. The Rush: Signals tour was my very first rock concert
Unless anyone has caught or surpassed them, they have been known as the most educated band in rock and roll... all three members have PhDs. their lyrics are really amazing. "The Trees" has always been one of my favorites...

There is unrest in the forest,
There is trouble with the trees,
For the maples want more sunlight
And the oaks ignore their pleas.

The trouble with the maples,
(And they're quite convinced they're right)
They say the oaks are just too lofty
And they grab up all the light.
But the oaks can't help their feelings
If they like the way they're made.
And they wonder why the maples
Can't be happy in their shade.

There is trouble in the forest,
And the creatures all have fled,
As the maples scream Oppression!
And the oaks just shake their heads

So the maples formed a union
And demanded equal rights.
The oaks are just too greedy;
We will make them give us light.
Now there's no more oak oppression,
For they passed a noble law,
And the trees are all kept equal
By hatchet, axe, and saw.

8. They certainly have intelligent lyrics, but...
It is not true that they have PhDs. In fact, none of the three even graduated from college.

7. Rush rocks
I grew up in their home town (Toronto), in fact I went to the same high school as Alex Lifeson (not at the same time). Saw them in concert about 10 times between 1982 and 1992.

I'm considering buying the DVD, but heard the audio quality is disappointing -- any word on that?
