Woman Dowses Boyfriend With Gasoline To Get Crack - He Catches Fire

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- A Daytona Beach woman accused of dousing her boyfriend with gasoline was out of jail Tuesday. Karianne Cregar was released from the Volusia County Branch Jail on Monday night after posting bail on charges of aggravated battery and arson resulting in jury.

Reports said Abraham A.J. Cregar suffered second and third degree burns to 100 percent of the front of his body. Karianne Cregar was once married to the man's older brother.

The incident also caused their mobile home to catch fire.

Karianne Cregar told investigators that she and A.J. were arguing and that she threw the gas on him to get crack cocaine she believed he had in his pocket. She also said she did not intend to set him on fire and that she didn't see a lighter or cigarette in his hand.

Prosecutors will look at all the evidence before making a decision on pursuing formal charges.
