Got a call from our baby girl in Boston yesterday morning. She had sprained her ankle badly Sunday night and injured her hand when she fell. Because of the hand she couldn't use crutches. It was her right foot, so she couldn't drive. Couldn't take our 4 year old grandson to his first day of real kindergarten. Couldn't even go to the grocery store. Her husband was able to work from home yesterday, but had a court appearance (he's an attorney) today that he could not miss. She was REALLY down.
"I can make it to the bathroom on my knees and one hand and butt-slide up and down stairs. Can you guys come up here for a few days?"
We're on the way, Shug, except... I have a short term...ahem...vascular problem that precludes my sitting down for extended periods.
"I can't travel, hon. But I'll send mom. Just promise to take real good care of her and send her back as soon as you can." "I promise dad. Thanks." :-)
I took Miz t. to the airport (Pensacola) at 4 a.m. The 6:20 flight overfueled so they were above max takeoff weight for a full (passengers) airplane. Dee-You-UMB, DUMB. Miz t. is on a pass (space available) so she was bumped. Next flight canceled. Next flight overbooked due to all the passengers from the previously cancelled flight. merde She finally got on a 1:45 p.m. flight and (gods willing) arrives at Logan 8:30 tonight.
So...I'm bache-ing it for a week or so. If any of you ladies would like to stop by with a casserole or something... ;-)
