Need help with Google Homepage
Here's the email I just sent to Google Support:

I added a bookmark with a very long URL and didn't name it, so the long URL is what is displayed. The name is so long that it won't fit on the screen. Because of this, the "X" is off the screen, so I can't delete it. Also the Xs for all other bookmarks are off the screen, and I cannot now delete any bookmarks.

Here's what I've tried:

1. I changed the screen resolution to try to get it all to fit on the page. That almost made it fit, but the Xs are still hidden.

2. I deleted the module, then re-added it (figuring I could start from scratch). When I re-added the module my saved bookmarks, including the offending one, were still there.

Any solution to this?

Any ideas?

1. I'm thinking maybe Linux?
I just remembered that I can boot to Linux with a live CD at home. Maybe the screen resolution options are better, and it might squeeae the X onto the screen.

Thoughts?

2. Maybe I'm unbelievably dense, but I'm not following
Google is just a website. There's such a thing as a Google toolbar (or there used to be; I don't see it mentioned on the Google homepage anymore), but unless I'm misunderstanding completely, your problem is with your browser. For most folks that's either Internet Explorer or Firefox. I don't see where Google comes into it.

4. Sorry for the confusion
Google offers personal homepages to be used as a start page, like Yahoo does. It has email alerts, headlines, and various other options.

Here's the URL: http://www.google.com/ig

If you open a Google account you can add all kinds of content and tools to the page.

BTW: I fixed the problem when I went home for lunch. I have a bigger monitor there, and with higher screen resolution I was able to access the X.

3. Ummm....
Maybe I'm not getting this correctly after reading your post, but am wondering of you tried any of the following:

1. Right click on the URL in your bookmarks, select DELETE, choose OK if applicable, and it's gone.

2. Move cursor to the top of the window, hold right click down on the top of window...the blue part at the top of the window...and drag it over to see the X.

3. Move cursor to left side of window screen, look for double ended black arrow, hold down right click and move side of screen over to make window smaller, then move cursor to top of window at blue bar, hold right click and drag window over to X.
