Car flies 200 feet and crashes into 2nd story apartment

Interesting angle on these shots. I have to assume there is more than we can see otherwise-how did they miss the tree?

3. in the print edition they had a bigger photo with annotation

there is a big lawn to the right of the photos.

further to the right is a hedgerow of trees along the edge of the lawn.

there is a 5 or 6 foot high berm in the hedgerow and a street deadends on the other side of the hedge row.

apparently the guy came down the street at 100mph or so and launched off the berm, through the hedge row, over the lawn, past the tree, over that small building and into the second story.

6. That last paragraph had me laughing

just imagining what must have been going through the guy's mind.

I am reminded of a story of my friend back when we rode mountain bikes:

They told him to look out for the steps. He thought they meant the kind you find in state parks and such where he might have to stop and carry his bike down them.

Well he was riding and he hit something and got some air "Hey I got some air" he said to himself.... he hit something else and got more air "Hey this is really cool getting some serious air" he thought to himself...then he hit the third thing and realized, in the air, "Oh shit these are the steps".

The next thing he and the whole riding part saw was him (with a death grip on the handlebars) flying through the woods like in the second Star Wars movie. Several small trees were cut down (this was no small guy) and he ended up with his handlebars twisted 90 degrees in 2 directions-counterclockwise AND to the left.
