Did you ever have a crush on someone who works at a place you go to
frequently? Such as a grocery store, gym, video store, gas station - any place you go to on a regular basis? I usually have several of these crushes at any given time. Have you had this? Where the person makes your heart start beating faster just by seeing them? How did it end up? Tell me your story.

1. Is that a crush, even?
Isn't that just the hots? Doesn't a crush require that you interact with them at least a little... so that you kind of get to know them?

4. You talk to them? Have conversations?
You don't mean you just memorize their appearance, right? :P

9. Yes, I've become skilled at befriending them and getting them to talk
about their lives and what they think and all that - all through careful listening and follow-up questions. Then moving in for the kill later on. Just kidding. I just leave it up to them to suggest that it move above and beyond that level - which never happens though. But yes I memorize their looks.

Well no, I never have, but that sounds sweet. :)

Conversely, there is a delivery guy from UPS who covers this area... not a crush at all... but I sure do getting a UPS delivery. :7

3. I had a crush at work at 17. He was married. It ended badly.
I've told the story before and now that the person is deceased, he still remains in my thoughts and dreams. Read: I was obsessed with this person and required psychiatric treatment after decades of involvement.

But, don't worry. This won't happen to you, I'm sure. You'll have to actually get to know someone before you can even call it a crush.

5. Does your college professor count?
Or is that too typical. He was very cool and I wasn't all that young at the time.

7. Oh my God, I forgot. I had a crush on one drama teacher (gay),
one science teacher (married woman, not lesbian) and two male professors. I considered that so natural that I didn't even think of them initially.

Oh, well, all those crushes are more than fifty years ago. I'm not going to worry about it.

24. Embarrasingly so, mine were much more recent so I can't claim
I was an immature kid. I was older and under a great deal of stress on my job at the time. My prof was grad student prof, a great guy who had everyone in his class under his spell. It was terrific. We all benefitted. But I do think every woman in the class just adored him.

6. I had a crush on the guy that picked our film for the photo processing
company that served our store, when I was 17. It was Ba-ad! I flirted with him for about a year, despite the fact that he was ten years older than me, and the idea of a guy nearly thirty being interested in a teenager should have creeped me out. Then, they changed his route to exclude our store, and he came in and told me, and asked me for my phone number. I gave it to him, but then freaked out when he called me, realizing I didn't ACTUALLY want to get involved with him. :P

17. No way! "Camera Man," as I covertly referred to him,
had a big head of curly, almost black hair, was tall, and wore cool band t-shirts. He also once told me that he a had a pot-belly pig. I think his name was actually Brett. In retrospect, there was probably something wrong with him; though I can only speculate as to what that might have been.

"Yeah! The attitude dictates that you don't care whether she comes, stays, lays, or prays. I mean whatever happens, your toes are still tappin'. Now when you got that, then you have...the attitude!"

36. Eric Stoltz, Sean Penn and Anthony Edwards...
Wow! They were but mere tots!

And yes, that is one of my favorite all-time movies. I was a junior in high school when it came out. Piedmont High, not Ridgemont. I was wearing long blonde hair and riding skateboards... after seeing the movie, I got some black & white checkerboard Vans and became a Spicoli clone.

Good times...

18. Coffee shop girl broke my f'n heart
A few years ago, I lived right by a coffee shop, and I'd go in for morning wake-ups, and this brunette beauty that worked there and I had a slight rapport from time to time. We even had a record exchange system. I let her borrow The Beach Boys' "Wild Honey," she lent me Elvis Costello's "King of America." Months later, I was out drinking, and I saw her with her boyfriend. Just crushed me. Never even returned "King of America" to her. I saw her a few more times, and then she was gone. Like Kaiser Solzhe. Don't get mixed up with those coffee shop types, they'll just ground your heart into a rich, delicious brew.

The one that was the worst... I was 15. There was a guy working at the Jack in the Box a block from my apartment complex. His name was Patrick, and he was tall (relatively speaking), wore all black, had looong black hair. Every time I walked in there, if he was there, I was beet red the whole time, and stuttered a little when I ordered. He totally knew, and even would come talk to me sometimes. Sigh. :loveya:

On edit: I tried to date him but I was his little sister's age so he felt too weird about it. :(

22. I used to have a crush on the guy at the bank
When I was much younger, I worked in a restaurant. Part of my job was to take the deposit to the bank. There was a guy there that I thought was the hottest thing since the invention of fire. Of course, he didn't know I was alive.

Several years ago, I worked for an architectural and engineering firm. There was another woman in the office that had the worst crush I've ever seen on the UPS man that would visit the business. The guy was as nice as he was handsome; he really wasn't interested in her, and let her know as gently as possible. She persisted till he changed his route.

25. Before I got my Lasik, I was at the eye doctor's about every
other week for exams, measurements, etc. There was (is) a girl that works there named Tanya who totally rocked my world. She was a technician so I got to spend a lot of time with her. Not only is she gorgeous, but smart and funny as well.

Since I am married, nothing happened. But I can tell you that if I go to my eye doctor's and I don't see Tanya, my day is shot to hell.

27. I once had a crush on my internist.
Black hair and brown eyes... long eyelashes and lovely lips. I saw him two or three times and they switched physicians. It was embarrassing to see him because I blushed whenever he looked at me. Pathetic. He's since lost most of his hair and gained weight. Still cute though!

28. Yes, lots
no big crush now, but some little ones.

When I was much younger, I used to go to a particular store at a mall...I walked by the neighbouring store and saw this chap I found very attractive; I saw him a few more times over the space of a week or two.

I went to a card shop, bought a card that had a picture of a woman blowing a kiss (a la Marilyn)...I wrote my name and phone number in it and gave it to my friend (lol) to give it to him.

That night, the phone rang and it was him. We ended up dating each other for a few months. :-)

They always talk to me. We have great political discussions. One of them (and gosh he has gorgeous blue eyes) was stuck in Lebanon last month. They always ask MrG how I am doing when he goes in there. If he was a jealous man I'd be in trouble. :D

This was the only girl I ever saw that made me tongue-tied. Absolutely stunning.

Unfortunately, everyone who knew her told me she was relatively anxious to get married and have kids, which took her right off my radar even as good-looking as she was.
