How do -you- relax when you are really exhausted / burnt out?

Don't tell me "I sleep"--I can figure that shit out myself.

1. Don't know what to tell you.
You already play music, you already get loads of exercise, you already enjoy the nature, you already masturbate, you already drink, you already read.

You cover the waterfront.

But damn it's tough to swim after troop ships in these leggings.

6. Try dropping those leggings,
like you would drop a four-credit class.

Better yet, treat yourself to a chocolate and bacon brunch on Sunday, and have a beer float made with warm stout and premium mocha ice cream. Have two beer floats. And sip a little bourbon while your at it.

Then get back to work!

Their sign has the extremely appetizing silhouette of a gnome with a giant flaccid Washington monument on his head.

7. Yeah that always is therapeutic
But I am the laziest runner ever--my pace is all about comfort. Still, I'm not too far from my old time of 42 min for 10k

I have phases of pushing it and phases of laying back, such that I never get anywhere. :P

21. Yeah, been there. By next week, I may be taking naps on the
treadmill. I've done that before. Ever close your eyes while running and practically fall asleep? I have.

Maybe you need to date a massage therapist.

Or bourbon.

Or a good book.

Or a swim.

I think I need to make a trip to the liquor store. Some Lagavulin and some nice brandy are probably in order for this semester.

23. True--it mellowed out my dad quite a bit
But I like joint-destroying, travelling exercise. I do enjoy stretching before and after a run however.

14. Well, it depends.......
If I'm feeling sociable, I'll try to reach one of my good friends and talk to them....

Unloading that way is very therapeutic!

I think that the main way I try to relax is just to escape from whatever is making me tired.....

Change of scenery, read something, take a nap, whatever......

Playing on DU also works!

24. I think I'm going to do the dishes
Something good and mindless to clear my head a bit. It's tougher to escape in a disorderly place.

29. Hot tub. The big one in the yard (if it is running) or just the little one
in the bathroom. Begging for someone else to clean it first is a good plan.

30. if i'm achy then 2 aspirin plus a glass of wine or a martini
if i'm too tired to sleep, it's because there's a pain element somewhere, so there's my RX

don't do it every nite tho, it's for emergency occasions! :-)

if there is no pain element, i just need to chill, often reading something technical or difficult will make me sleepy

i know some people go for the "light" reading but this doesn't work for me, it just bores me and makes me twitchy, there has to be some element of intensity -- if it is true junk reading, it has to be very fast paced, but it works better if it is something on multiple levels that pulls me out of myself for a little while
