1. $2.49 at the Green Pond Gulf today
Apparently, it's down as low as $2.17 in some South Jersey places.

Hopefully, people are smart enough to remember how cheap gas was under Clinton. I remember it being $0.89 at the cheap stations when I got my license.

3. Ours has gone down
From $1.14.9 at its highest before Labour Day, to now $90.9 per litre. Went from $4.34 per gallon to $3.45 a gallon.

17. In Toronto
I've seen prices as low as cdn$0.729/litre. That translates to roughly us$2.48/us gallon (3.78 litres).

That's lower than NY State's gas prices, even with our higher levels of taxation on gasoline.

21. Yes you are
considering you're sitting on massive reserves of oil and your taxes are probably lower.

But you do get that $400 cheque, don't you?

22. Once we did, last year
but the tax thing...well, we get hit with it in other ways. We are serviced fee-d up to our eyeballs. We do pay health care premiums. Cars are much more expensive here than elsewhere (though no PST), and the cost of living is rising very rapidly in the past 6 months because of 'the boom'.

I think the prices are the result of the boom (hey, let's make money off these idiots who feel the need to have pickups/SUVs. Every second vehicle on the road is one, I kid you not).

Last year, gas prices here were much cheaper than in T.O.

23. Gas prices in Canada have traditionally been lowest in Alberta
I think the current situation in Toronto is one of over-supply and there's certainly a major price war going on.

The boom in Alberta may be nice, but it's also creating some major problems. Housing is no longer affordable for people entering the real estate market and the cost of living is driving up the cost of everything else over there.

26. Add vacancy rates are below 1%
so much of it is a bloody mess. The province didn't even have a plan for it, while encouraging it. F*ckwits.

(we won't even get into the problems in Ft Mac...)

Who's replacing him, we don't know yet, but I'm glad that Klein is gone. One of the biggest jackasses Canada has ever seen. :grr:

A close Senatorial race coming up in a few months...gas prices fall...conicindence...I think not. Of course people won't remember that gas was under a dollar just 6 years ago. Thank our Lord and Savior George Bush for $2 gas this election season! :sarcasm:

On edit: Gas is actually down to $2.39 at the station around the corner

18. 2.97.
Gas was at 2.99 in Boise in early August. We went on vacation in mid August and bought gas in Montana, North Dakota, and Minnesota. When we came back to Boise at the end of August - gas was STILL 2.99. Two days ago, gas finally went down to 2.97 (this is at most major chain gas stations around town).

So why is it that the national average, according to the news last night, went down FORTY-TWO cents in the last three weeks, but our gas prices came down a measly two cents since early August?

My guess is they will get lower and stay that way until after November's elections.

27. With oil at $64 a barrel, either they lie about the cost to make gas
or they are subsidizing the cost through profit reduction just to help the Thuglies win.

We're fucked. The mouth-breathers will trip all over themselves to vote Rethug.
