did anyone save the quote about "Canine Americans"?

I heard or read yesterday that the head of the Humane Society insists that we should no longer call dogs dogs, but rather "canine Americans" and I'm looking for a cite for that quote.

2. Turns out it was a tongue-in-cheek comment taken out of context...

...and circulated by some dairy trade group. KO got suckered into using it day before yesterday for his "worst person in the world," but when he was set straight, he said so on today's show, and named the trade group the "worst person in the world."

Edited to add: they've been irked at the Humane Society ever since they successfully lobbied Trader Joe's to stop selling battery cage eggs under their store label. They had an undercover person get very, very damning video footage of what those chickens go through (it aired in SF area, among other places).
