Yesterday I was riding the #8 bus home from downtown and who do I see get on in Old Town but pdxbarb, whom I met a couple weeks ago at the Portland meet-up at the Laurelthirst Pub. She and a friend were on their way to the Lloyd Center, so we only had a few minutes to chat. Still we managed to cover such topics as office space in Washington, DC vs. Silver Spring, MD, martinis served in pint glasses, and my infamous "man bag," which had caused some small mirth at the Laurelthirst.

More people should come to the meet-ups so I can run into you around town and feel special about it.

Yeah, I have a gray and black nylon Tumi that has been around Spain and the US with me. I hope to get it around a few more countries before it dies or I die.

I keep all my 'things' in there and I get very snippy when people rummage around in it.

Began the habit of carrying it when my sweetheart at the time refused to carry one...
Turns out it's very endearing to have a place to carry *HER* wallet and lip gloss.
(Also, I had to have a place to stow some medication which wasn't pocket sized.)

I can carry it proudly now knowing you have one!

5. I had a chance almost-meeting with a DUer once.

I was sitting on the stoop outside Poor Herbie's, my favorite bar to hang out at smoking a cigarette and listening to the latest inane drama from my most drama-ridden friend, when a guy wearing a DU shirt appeared with my friend Erec. Erec stayed but the DU shirt guy left, before I got a chance to escape my friend's drama.

So, if the DUer that was outside Poor Herbie's with Erec reads this, haruka3_2000 says hi.

Me, I've pretty much talked myself out of a conference I should go to in Manhattan in 2 weeks, so I probably won't have a chance to see you in the wild until next spring. And that is probably good news for my liver.
