So I'm sitting here, running these two moisture testers in Bryan, Ohio.
This has got to be one of the top five most useless and stupid activities I've ever been assigned.

Load the empty pan.
Tare the scale.
Load the resin sample.
Start the machine.
Record the weight.
Record the moisture.
Record the time.
Repeat for EIGHT SOLID HOURS.

This is the kind of activity that breeds mass murderers and serial killers.

1. My Grandparents
lived in Bryan for a very long time. Is it still a tiny town? Keep your chin up. Hopefully the testing you have to do will go by quickly?:bounce:

2. Yeah, but at least you're getting paid...
Um, you ARE getting paid, right? This isn't like the world's saddest hobby, is it? :(

3. Sort of.
I drove 140 miles to get here (at 25 CENTS a mile) in my own car. The drive took 3 hours due to the 1 cubic mile of cotton fog that was covering about 75% of the route, plus I sat in the car on US 127 on a 2 lane stretch for at least 20 minutes while they dragged a semi out of a ditch.

As far as getting paid, I make 2/3 of what the national average is for my position, my health insurance has a $20 a visit co-pay and only covers 20% of meds with a premium raise to almost $4000 A YEAR my 401k has been discontinued. Not much of a job for a 53 year old guy.

Oh yeah. I have to turn around and do it all over again on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of next week. And they don't consider the 5 hours of driving as part of the work day.

4. Yoiks.
If I had known it was that bad I would not have been so cavalier.

5. I had to do that occaisionally at my last job (different product)
When the normal person who did that was not there. Even though it was a much easier job, I hated it, especially if she was gone multiple days in a row. I don't know how she could stand doing it every day.
At the plant where I worked, that job paid $11.00/hour. I made more, but would have definitely chosen my job instead of that one even if the pay rates were the same.
Why do you have such a long commute for a job like that?
