1. Sin City
Marv's portion...I felt a real connect to Marv, and his circumstance, and his convictions...the main theme I felt during his slice of the movie, was "Me agains the world, and I'm going to be giving the World the hard goodbye"...I have felt that way almost my whole life...the world vs petersond, and I am not going to lay down and take it, I fight back(not as brutal as Marv)....:) I also think Conan the Barbarian, and Fight Club fit how I feel about my life....

2. Inherit The Wind......
I love that movie...

The argument between evolution and creationism spelled out wonderfully by Spencer Tracy and Frederick March...

Lawrence and Lee wrote some of the best plays in the 50's and 60's...

Most notable are Inherit the Wind, Mame and The Night Thoreau Spent in Jail....

These movies showed me how a person can stand up for what they believe is right no matter the consequence...

5. Seriously though, obviously, The Straight Story
The old guy had a mission, became single minded about it, and saw it through for family. In the end, he did the right thing.

6. that's a very difficult question to answer
I have to look at the movies i've watched and question, not only which ones have connected to me most, but which one's describe me.

I own over 500 movies, and still don't know if I can answer that.

sorry.

I can't. I love too many movies and so many describe me is different ways.

8. very lowbrow
"Pretty in Pink". Don't laugh. I loved that movie and I always felt just like Molly Ringwald's character. And I thought Annie Potts did the greatest job in that movie playing the off-key friend. I actually wanted to be her when I grew up and wear plastic dresses with spiked hair and shoot staples at shoplifters in my own record store, lol. And Andrew McCarthy was the cherry on top of the sundae.

And "Left Of Center" the song in that movie by Suzanne Vega was my theme song too. Still is...

11. Papillon
now, of course, I am not French or a criminal and I don't know Dustin Hoffman and I haven't smoked a cigar with a leper (sorry, not PC) and I have never spent time in solitary or escaped from Devils Island but STILL... that movie just struck something in my soul when I was very young (high school)and I love it...never give up ever ever ever and that is what I took from it. Fantastic movie. Oh..and then there is Cool Hand Luke. There's another one...

12. Over the Edge
Over the Edge That was my teenage years minus the burning down of the school, not that I wouldn't have if given the chance, and I still live by the code of "Any kid that tells on another kid is a dead kid."

13. Lonesome Dove
Captain Augustus "Gus" McCrae as played by Robert Duvall. And yes, I did read the book first.

He loves life and is lazy and loves his booze but can always be counted upon in a pinch. He has a sense of humor and loves women, alcohol and cards.

"A man who wouldn't cheat for a poke don't want one bad enough."

"I'm just tryin' to keep everything in balance, Woodrow. You do more work than you got to, so it's my obligation to do less."
