Cause of death: bad salad

I had a salad at school on thursday. It was not very good (stupid salad bars for omnis with too much shreded fermented cow pus and chunks of chicken pectorals and not enough greenery, but I digress...) but I thought nothing of it. I woke up sick in the middle of last night. I feel like shit. Damned spring mix.

2. Salad bars: yuck.

Not just for the reason that all that many times handled raw food and serving utensils are breeding grounds for nasty little beasties but so many people think "salad bar" means cheeses, meats, pickled vegetables and artificially thickened creamy dressings or "Italian dressing" with the consistency of # 2 motor oil. The tomatoes are always mushy cardboard type too.

But hey, back to you. Hope you're feeling better soon.

I figured out where the cafeteria microwave hides though, so next week if I feel any better I should be able to just bring something to warm up.

Fuck, that is ludicrous you can't get to the doctor. :grr:

I buy the Earthbound spring greens all the time; looks like my accursed fridge may have saved me, though. It will sometimes freeze the mix, and it did Thursday. I threw it all out, then heard about the e coli and it possibly being linked to Earthbound, among other brands.

13. did you hear about that salad recall - bad spinach?

bagged spinach was found to be contaminated with e-coli - we tried to get a Spinnocoli at Uno tonight and were told they weren't using spinach per the FDA.
