This is what a guitar is supposed to fucking sound like.

Not that I don't think shredders don't have some serious talent in shredding, but it's so fucking boring... geez. One shred song every few months is enough.

Music is the space between the notes, said Debussy. Give us some fucking spaces, then, shredders.

2. [rummage] Steve Vai? Joe Satriani? Zakk Wylde?
It needs to be loud enough to KEEP ME AWAKE, man!

3. I'm not sure what you mean - Allman Brothers were plenty loud.
I don't think shredders are any less or more loud than any other amplified rock act.

4. True
I was thinking not less melodic, just different sort of melody.

I do like the Allman Brothers - I sort of never actually put their music on these past few years. The mood I've been in, the heavier and louder the better.

6. It was pure, subtle, covert anti-XemaSab polemic
born of utter hatred and trailing behind it the ancient stench of man's most virulent and primitive malignity.

guitar songs since it appeared as a studio version; then I fell in love with the live version.

That SOB fucking SMOKES!

(and I say "even though" because of the DU element that would have us choose music based on the politics of the performer, and not on the merit or lack thereof of the music)

12. That IS what a guitar should sound like...
I don't think I have ever seen footage of Duane Allman playing -- that was awesome!!

My college roommate was a HUGE Allman Bros. fan and we listened to them a lot. However, for some reason, the Allman Bros. became our "Sunday Morning, Nursing a Hangover" music. "Whipping Post" was one of our favorites. This video brings back a lot of memories.

13. Sigh... He had a real gift for playing amazingly moving music.
The world was a better place when he was still with us.

Now we have shredders and Beyonce.

15. You've gotta love Angus! My guitar teacher told me that Malcolm Young
is a great guitar player, also. These guys can rock, that's for sure!

I haven't heard anything from
ACDC for over five years.

They definitely rock!
