18. Day trip from Berlin, basically (we did stop in Dresden first).

We were there overnight but managed to get a lot of touring in.

Loved the city, but the people, well, not so nice (hubby is brown-skinned, I think that might have had something to do with that). They weren't horrible, just not exactly what I'd call even the least bit warm; and I've heard that from Anglo couples as well, so... :shrug:

The food was great and the beer--WOW--and I'm not a big beer fan.

My hubby goes there often on biz (he works for DHL and that's one of their administrative hubs).

I'd go back to Germany and Prague in a New York minute if I could. First trip overseas and I loved it.

We stayed at a couple of huts on the way up, and met up with a Canadian team; some from Toronto, some from Quebec. In fact, we were outnumbered by Canadians! The group had a lot of joie de vivre; gallons of the stuff in fact, which they hawled up the mountain in bags. They shared some of it with us. They spoke mostly French, except for one guy that spoke Spanish with me for a while. We had a blast.

I thought of you when I shared dinner and wine with this bunch. I wish I had taken some pictures with them.

Just looking at it makes me feel good. I love it because it shows an animal and a human having a good time together. The dog is so funny and cute that I want to just hug him/her. Man, that dog is livin' the life. The ball in his mouth, out on the water with his human: it doesn't get any better than this.

It makes me happy to see a dog so happy. They are such great animals that they deserve lives and companionship like what I see here.
