Poll question: Carville Or Begala?
Edited on Mon Dec-22-03 01:13 AM by syrinx9999
Even though Begala is arguably the better debater, I'm going with Carville for two reasons. One, he doesn't say all that BS about Bush being a very nice man, etc. Two, Carville values freedom more, as in small-L libertarianism, regarding sex, drugs, etc.

on edit: Add a reason for Carville. He's the only person I've ever seen on live television to call Republicans "goddamn evil sons-of-bitches." That was on Crossfire back when it was an hour.

9. Its who do you prefer I guess as a person
Personally I like them both from what I see but the Ragin Cajun wins because I liked him in a movie I saw lol and he was on family guy, ok I prefer his style :).

14. hey, I didn't know he was on Family Guy!
I saw him on King Of The Hill where he voiced a judge that was trying Hank for possession of crack cocaine. Poor old Hank thought it was fishing bait. It was funny as hell. Did he play himself on Family Guy?

15. No I dont think so
but Peter sees his face and screams lol. He was great in old school, Will Ferell is explaining something, and Carville is like that was brilliant. I loved that movie. You know I think King of the Hill is left of center not neo con.

17. I think so too
Peter's your brother that looks vaguely like me in 6th grade?

I forgot about Carville being in Old School. I haven't seen the movie but I have seen the clip that Serpanthead is in. 'Twas pretty funny!

Yeah, I think KOTH is kind of lefty. A lot of people (mostly freepers) don't understand that it's satire.

Did you see the People vs. Larry Flynt? Carville was in that too.

What about peter? my brother isnt named peter, no. Peter Griffin on Family Guy is introduced to James Carville and is revolted by his face. Its the one where he runs against Lois for like school board.

I remembered after I hit post, that Peter was a character on Family Guy. I haven't seen many episodes of that show. I don't know why, because I liked the ones I saw. Except the talking baby gave me the creeps. lol

6. Carville
I sense he is more dedicated and really cares, while politics seems like a game for Begala sometimes.

8. Geaux James!!
:-)

Paul is still cool, though. Both of them wax Traitor Novak and Tucker Carlson's butts in debates consistently.

10. Carville, definitely, but
I still cant figure out, after wondering about it so many times, how he can be married to that bitch, and allow her deluded thinking to influence his children.

11. No brainer - Carville
Edited on Mon Dec-22-03 01:15 AM by mouse7
Begala is too centrist.

Personally, I'd pull Begala and add someone like David Barsamian. Carville is a good fair centrist voice (as long as you keep him off the same stage as his wife... boy, he just folds up like paper tent when she's there).

Wouldn't you LOVE to see Novakula have a stroke right there in the GWU theater once Barsamian was done with him. :)

18. Half the time I have no clue what Carville says...
I'm Southern-dialectically challenged, which is a problem b/c my hubby is from South Carolina and I feel like I'm constantly saying "What??!" but.. I'd hate to get on Carville's bad side, I think he's brilliant and honest. Begala's been too apologetic at times...

22. hes from louisiana...
i visited new orleans or (n'alwans as the locals called it) awhile back and it was a whole different type of southern than i had ever encountered before. nothin wrong with a little bit of a southern accent though, i kinda like it, wish i had one. im just a plain midwesterner though, the most problem people have understanding me is just when i mumble something not meant to be heard.

24. as a kid visiting relatives in the midwest...
I thought the kids in Ohio and Indiana were the ones with the "accent." :)

Yeah, I knew Carville is from Louisiana. Carville, Louisiana, by the way. You can blame the French for his accent. lol

I haven't been to NO since I was a kid, I'm not that far from it, and I have rich relatives there.

25. Who can resist the Ragin' Cajun?
I know Carville can be a bit grating on television, but on paper, he's very different. I'm reading through his new book "Had Enough" and he's intelligent, funny, and has some very smart ideas on a large number of topics. Right-wingers say Democrats don't have any ideas. Well, I hope the Democrats will grab a copy of Carville's book and steal some of those ideas.

Paul's okay. You can tell Robert Novak hates his guts.
