2. My dear Random_Australian!
London does it for me.....

The history at every step.....

The language......

I felt so comfortable there.........

Not to say that Paris isn't wonderful too.........it is....

I'm pretty nearly evenly divided between the two, really.......

Haven't been to Sydney, though......

5. Where's NY, Dublin & Florence?

New York is in America, Dublin is in Irelend, Florence is in Italy.

:)

Paris = Capital of France, Berlin = Capital of Germany, London = Capital of the UK, (This is if my limited geographical knowledge has not failed me), and of course Sydney = Capital of New South Wales.

8. Yup, that is why I added "Paris = Capital of France,
Berlin = Capital of Germany, London = Capital of the UK, (This is if my limited geographical knowledge has not failed me), and of course Sydney = Capital of New South Wales."

Oh who am I kidding! The real answer to your question was "No, that is just frost on my moustache"

9. San Francisco!
Those other places all lack garlic fries, to say nothing of american football, the palace of fine arts and vegan mock duck. There's no great view of any of those other cities from the marin headlands, either. Oh, and I can drive to San Francisco for the day, have a great time, and be home in time to sleep in my own bed. I just did it today.

10. They lack garlic 'fries' huh?
What makes you so damn sure? The café on the corner sells CHIPS will garlic aoli, so there! (And there would be garlic 'fries' around somewhere too)

"to say nothing of american football" - saying nothing of wusses ball is the way I prefer it. :) :P

(Ok, the meanness in that was just me kidding around. Don't take it seriously... well, except for the football thing. It is rather wussy, from what I've seen of it)

Palace of fine arts? Elitist! (Ok I am getting really silly here) Who needs a 'palace'? We salt-of-the-earth types require only an ordinary place of fine arts!

Sounds good.

Vegan mock duck? I dunno, but it should be here soon. Actually, stay that thought. With the kind of food standards we have, we've not had a rise in a-carnivorism like you guys.

But really, great views? You just can't talk to an Aussie about great views. Seriously - we chopped ancient Tasmanian hardwood forests that were simply a wonder to behold. We have that much natural scenery.

And I can't refute the driving there thing.

How's about you vote for sydney anyway?

23. Real garlic fries are a regional thing
You really can't get proper ones once you go over the Bay Bridge. They're fries covered in not-quite raw garlic and parsley. They smell, but they taste wonderful. They're stadium food and go great with beer.

The palece of fine arts: The really cool thing is that even though it's the most beautiful spot in the city, it's not overrun with tourists. It's also next to the Exploratorium, the coolest museum EVAR!!!

But tell you what, you fly me down to Sydney and I'll vote for it anyhow.

19. I was thinking, should I start a poll on whether I ought to put up more
photos, and then post one for each 10 posts that people write in the poll?

What do you think?

And here is the pic:

24. Sydney
With Paris a close second.
London never did anything for me.
I've hitched and trained all around Deutschland (pre-unification era), but never reached Berlin.

28. I Adore London
Which is rather ironic, because I was born in Paris. My dad is English and ma mere is from France. They married in Paris and started their family before moving to Montreal.

Truth be told, I can't stand Paris. The people, the rush, the whole city. Even though I consider myself to be French, London remains one of my favourite places on this planet.
