Matcom News Update: Judge Drops Charges In Sex With Corpse Case
<snip>

LANCASTER, Wis. -- Three men accused of trying to dig up a young woman's body to have sex with it had charges of attempted sexual assault dismissed Friday by a judge who noted Wisconsin has no law against necrophilia.

Grant County Circuit Judge George Curry dismissed those charges against twins Nicholas and Alexander Grunke of Ridgeway and Dustin Radke of Mineral Point, but they still face lesser charges.

The three 20-year-olds were arrested after an alleged attempt to dig up Laura Tennessen, 20, of Cassville, who was killed Aug. 27 in a motorcycle crash and buried at the St. Charles Catholic Cemetery in Cassville.

Grant County Sheriff Keith Govier said the three were not acquainted with Tennessen but had seen an obituary with her photo.

2. It strikes me a little like
when you see an odd step in recommended use or warning labels.

Like "do not take orally" on a shampoo bottle or something like that.

You have to think to yourself "Ok they needed this rule because some idiot thought it would be a good idea to drink it at one point."

Apparently WI hasn't had a necrophilia problem in the past. :shrug:

I suppose that speaks well of people in WI...at least until these two numbskulls showed up. :)

3. Ed Gein was from Wisconsin
So they've certainly had experience with this.

He's the real person upon whom Norman Bates, Buffalo Bill (Silence of the Lambs) and Leatherface (TX Chainsaw massacre) were all based. And he lived around La Crosse/Plainfield, so you'd think WI law would be all up to speed with its necrophilia and grave robbing laws.
