Monday, September 18. William Shakespeare's Thought For The Day:

With that, "William Shakespeare's Thought For The Day" is taking a little sabbatical. The Bard has provided us all with a summer's worth of laughs, guffaws, jabs, jibs, and thoughtful contemplation. But now, with Autumn approaching, his pen is broken and the ink is dry and cracked. Just as Will Shakespeare quit the stage in London and retired to Stratford, only to return a few years later to command the stage once more, collaborating with an inferior partner, so shall we both return in good time. We shall assay the ramparts of conservative arrogance, plumb the depths of right-wing stupidity, and endure, patiently, the incompetence of Republican fools. For my dear friends and gentle good people, I leave these words of Puck, to close out "A Midsummer Night's Dream":




"If we shadows have offended,
think but this; and all is mended
that you have but slumber'd here
while these visions did appear.
And this weak and idle theme
No more yielding but a dream.

3. No, CalPeg. Definitely not 'good-bye'.

It'll probably just be a few weeks, that's all. It was getting tough finding a good image every day. There are thousands of great quotes from the works of the Bard, but not every one lent itself well to a contemporary image; I occasionally put up some TFTD that were compromises, or were me settling for what I could get in a hurried moment. I'm just gonna let the juices simmer for a while and start again fresh in a little while.
